Day-Ray has more than 40 years of experience designing and building
emergency battery power supplies for military and commercial aircraft.
Our expertise includes Nickel Cadmium, Nickel Metal Hydride, and
Lithium Ion batteries. Designed specifically for aerospace applications, Day-Ray's
emergency battery power supplies pass the requirements of RTCA/DO160.

Day-Ray's NiCad battery chargers are installed on a wide range of commercial
and military aircraft including, but not limited to, the L1011, DC-10, MD80,
MD90, and 717. Our design expertise and product applications include 28VDC
emergency power, emergency egress lighting, squib firing, door assist modules,
and fuel shut-off battery units.

Day-Ray began developing lithium ion battery chargers for commercial aircraft applications in 2002.
Working closely with battery manufacturers, we have created a revolutionary battery management
system. This system, along with other mechanical design features, makes the EM7 battery charger
the safest in the industry.

The EM7 Series rechargeable power supply is the next generation of emergency power. It saves weight and greatly reduces the maintenance required on an aircraft emergency lighting system. Li-Ion batteries have no memory effects and therefore do not require reconditioning. Day-Ray's Li-Ion battery pack also has an extremely low self-discharge rate and can therefore be stored in a specified condition for up to two years and installed into service without any charging or preparation. This improves performance and reduces costs, today and over the life of the aircraft.

Day-Ray's Li-Ion technology is designed to meet or exceed the requirements of the latest RTCA/DO-160 Environmental Conditions and Test Procedures for Airborne Equipment. The units satisfy all relevant regulatory requirements of FARs and meet or exceed all relevant performance requirements of Boeing specification S283T014 and S283W603.
